Welcome. I’m Jim Shermer, founder and CEO of Cascade Hydroseed. For nearly 20 years, I worked on large construction sites as a union piledriver and welder, doing foundational drilling for bridges, high-rise buildings, and just about anything else that needed piling.

I often had spare time between those construction jobs, so I decided to find something productive to do. In 2009, I bought a small hydroseeding outfit and started doing mostly residential jobs around the Portland and Vancouver area.

The pandemic changed all that. After being laid off, I decided to retire from the union but kept the hydroseeding business. As it turns out, the pandemic did me a favor. Our business expanded rapidly, and today we service all of Clark County in Washington and Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas Counties in Oregon.

We are known for our prompt, courteous service. We show up when we say we’ll show up, we get the job done efficiently, and we stay on site until we’re sure it’s done right. We deliver the promise of lush, beautiful grass where you want it when you want it.

We are licensed for the entire state of Washington and for the Portland metropolitan area of Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas counties in Oregon. We are bonded and insured, capable of handling both commercial and residential sites, no job too large, no job too small.
